West Indies Sail Heritage Foundation provides practical sailing experience for youth age 12 to 23 years old. While onboard they learn theories of sailing and participate in hands-on exercises that bring them closer to achieving the goal of professional licensing. They not only advance their sailing abilities they also engage in team building, problem solving, and strengthen social skills while becoming the captains and crews of the future.
Racing
RACING A SAILBOAT BUILDS SAILING SKILLS QUICKLY.
Sailboat racing is a sport requiring passion, focus, stamina, attention to detail, conviction, strategy, and teamwork. It is being a part of something larger than yourself. The wind and water are dynamic, and understanding any changes that you need to make, is vital to doing well. We routinely join regattas with a race team of youth sailors. We regularly participate in the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, West Indies Regatta and Saturday afternoon racing.
